On the occasion of Sofins, the Special Forces and innovation show, to be held on 28, 29 and 30 March 2023, the Cercle de l’Arbalète is organising a raffle with exceptional prizes.
The prizes
The four prizes up for grabs will give the winners unique immersive experiences with the special forces and the GIGN, the Gendarmerie’s elite intervention unit.
The Army Special Forces offer the chance to take part “in a hostage rescue mission within an Army special forces team, from the operational shooting preparation, then during the insertion near the objective by a high-altitude operational tandem jump, and finally in the rescue itself before being extracted”, explains General Guillaume Le Segretain du Patis, commander of the FST.
The French Navy commandos, for their part, will offer a tandem jump into the sea, a pick-up by a fast commando boat, and a boat raid before launching an assault from the sea on a ship in transit, as stated by Rear Admiral Pierre de Briançon, commander of the Marine Rifles and Commandos Maritime Force.
The Air Special Forces Brigade promises an “unforgettable experience”, according to General Christophe Aubé, commander of the BFSA, with a mission including boarding an aircraft, a descent “in acrobatic fashion”, and shooting after an “insertion worthy of a blockbuster”.
Finally, the GIGN will invite the winner to a tandem jump surrounded by operational freefallers and a dog team, a shooting session on the unit’s premises, lunch in the group’s VIP area with General Ghislain Rety, commander of the GIGN, and a dozen operators, a tour of the unit and, finally, an invitation for 4 to the demonstrations and the cocktail party for Saint-Michel 2023.
A charity fundraiser
This raffle will allow four people to enjoy unique moments, but above all it is a way of raising funds for four associations, with a friendly challenge between the units. Indeed, “each of the 4 components will be able to give its own mutual aid association the funds it has raised by convincing you to choose its prize”, explains Benoît de Saint Sernin, president of the Cercle de l’Arbalète, which organises the Sofins show and this event.

You will then have access to the rules of the various raffles for the four associations (for example, they require you to accept that a security check will be carried out and to provide a medical certificate if you win, etc.), to video descriptions of the units, and above all you will be able to sign up for the raffle.
