It is January and, as tradition dictates, it is time for good resolutions and new projects. For the “Défense Zone” team, it is even more than that. For us, the start of this year is like a great leap into the void.
Like a paratrooper about to go through the door, we are ready for the great leap into the unknown.
Creating a media outlet, let alone a periodical magazine in digital and print formats, is quite a challenge. It takes a great deal of work, preparation... and hope. Hope that the public will turn up, that readers will be won over, and that our planned reports will be feasible despite a difficult economic and health context.
After long months of work behind the scenes, we are therefore ready to offer you a brand-new magazine that fully intends to make its mark in the world of defence and security.
“DZ”, a nod to the “drop zone” awaiting us for this great leap, is a news magazine specialising in the armed and security forces. In it you will find quality photo reports on various military units as well as law enforcement forces.
News, investigations and immersions
The members of our editorial team are professional journalists who specialise in this fascinating world.
For this first issue, we take you with us behind the scenes of the French Army, with a full feature on the paratroopers of the rapid-reaction brigade, then underwater with the mountain commandos of the French Foreign Legion.
We will pause for photographs at a RAID branch before taking a flight to the United States for an immersion with the US Marines.
In this issue, as in the next, we will also regularly discuss career transitions and unusual professional paths.
Alongside the magazine you are holding, our content also extends to multimedia. Many articles are available on our website and you can also listen to our “Rencontre DZ” (DZ Meets) segment on our “Défense Zone” podcast, available on all online platforms (iTunes, Soundcloud, Spotify, etc.)
