DÉFENSE ZONE
In a few days we will be celebrating the New Year, but also the release of the new issue of Défense Zone. Before it arrives on newsstands and in subscribers’ letterboxes, here is a preview of the current issue, whose last copies are still available.
As with every new issue, we try to offer you the widest possible range of defence and security news, while tackling in-depth subjects and making a point of giving pride of place to images.
Understanding the world
What is Iran’s place in world geopolitics, what are the missions of the dismounted combat support group, who are the soldiers serving in the world’s smallest army at the Vatican? In this new issue we try to answer all these questions to help you better understand the challenges of tomorrow and become an expert on defence and security units in France and in the four corners of the globe.
The feature that tells you everything
In each of our features we take you to the heart of the units. For this new issue we went with the elite groups of the French National Police and the National Gendarmerie. RAID, BRI, GIGN: you will learn all about these units on the front line in defending the country.
Défense Zone meets
The men and women of the defence and security forces, like the specialists who follow them, are all passionate people. To learn more about their commitment and their work, we bring you some out-of-the-ordinary encounters. For example with Lieutenant Colonel Hermitte, an officer of the forensic gendarmerie, or with Xavier Tytelman, a former airman turned YouTuber, recognised as one of the leading specialists on defence issues and notably on the war in Ukraine.
Choosing the right equipment
In our RETEX (lessons learned) section we help you choose your shooting equipment. Cameras, lenses, video cameras and drones too: we give you all the tips to choose what will best accompany you on your assignments in the most demanding terrain.
Images at the heart of the magazine
As we have since the very first issue, we pay great attention to the place of images. For this new issue, our teams left the capital to make a tour of France’s 14 July ceremonies. Lyon, Castres, Nice and Saint-Dizier: you will see that the Champs-Élysées is not the only place where the French come to meet those who ensure their security every day.
