The editorial of supplement #16, June 2024
We are living through a paradoxical and dangerous period. In the age of social media, information has never travelled so fast and so easily. Yet the world has never been so complex, and this continuous stream of information is more like background noise than a means of understanding the situation.
Another interesting paradox: while it has never been so easy to access facts and knowledge, we have an unfortunate tendency to outsource our analysis to “experts” and other “TV studio generals”, whom we like to hear confirm what we say and think.
Yet now more than ever is the time for personal analysis, dispassionate and free from our cognitive and ideological biases.
This requires two things: knowing history and understanding current events. The first provides the fundamentals, the objective keys to understanding the world. The second is a daily task that requires discipline and an open mind.
This new Pro&Business supplement from Défense Zone aims to help you in this quest.
To do so, we have chosen to cover three major themes which, in our view, will be key to understanding and anticipating our collective future. First, we will answer the question “what could trigger a third world war?”
Then we will try to understand how we are sliding into the much-anticipated war economy. Finally, it is important to look at artificial intelligence and understand why this technology will take a central place in the conflicts of tomorrow.
This Pro&Business supplement, exceptionally printed on paper for Eurosatory 2024, will guide you throughout the show. You will find information on the must-see events and exhibitors awaiting you in Paris this year.
Enjoy your reading and enjoy the show!
