Thales has reached an agreement with Korea Aerospace Industries to supply its Scorpion helmet-mounted display to the pilots of the FA-50s destined for Poland.
On 17 October 2023, Thales announced the signing of a contract with Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) to equip the pilots of FA-50 light multirole fighters, destined for the Polish Air Force, with its Scorpion helmet-mounted display. Thanks to HOBiT head-tracking technology, this display will enhance pilots’ vision capabilities in real time, thereby strengthening their awareness of the tactical situation.
The FA-50, with its digital cockpit, digital flight controls and a range of precision-guided weapons, is designed for combat missions in all conditions. The Scorpion helmet-mounted display integrates seamlessly into this high-performance environment, giving pilots a better understanding of the tactical situation.
Thales hopes that this initial contract with KAI will be followed by others in the future, notably for other models of the FA-50 combat aircraft offered on the international market.
