Shark Robotics, a technology company specialising in firefighting, defence and nuclear robots, announces that it has raised 10 million euros from the European fund Move Capital Fund I.
Shark Robotics says this fundraising will enable it to “strengthen its position as market leader”. The company, founded in 2016 in La Rochelle, will use the funds to “step up its R&D investment, accelerate its international expansion, already begun through its subsidiary Shark Asia, and improve its production facilities”, the company states in its press release.
The company controls the entire value chain of its machines: hardware, software and artificial intelligence, as well as the batteries. Award-winning in France and the United States, Shark robots increase operational efficiency, save human lives and reduce environmental impact.
Shark Robotics has already delivered more than a hundred robots in 15 countries. They are used by public institutions in civil protection and defence (French Ministry of the Armed Forces, Paris Fire Brigade, SDIS 33 and interior ministries abroad) and by industry (Orano, ArianeGroup).
The La Rochelle company is notably the creator of the Colossus firefighting robot, which was used during the fire at Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral in 2019 and was able to operate for more than 10 hours at 800 degrees.
This funding will allow Shark Robotics to pursue its development and consolidate its position as leader in the market for robotics in hostile environments.
