In a press release published on 16 June, during the Eurosatory show, the consortium formed by Nexter, Thales and Arquus announced the DGA’s qualification of the medical version of the Griffon. The 24-tonne multi-role armoured vehicle comes in multiple versions, all integrated into the Scorpion information system. In all, 1,872 vehicles are to be delivered to the French Army under the programme of the same name.
The medical version of the Griffon, whose purpose is “to ensure the recovery and evacuation of wounded personnel on the battlefield”, provides “the evacuated personnel and the onboard medical team with protection, mobility and conditions for carrying out medical procedures that are greatly improved compared with existing means”, the consortium states.
In total, 196 medical Griffons are to be delivered to the French Military Health Service (SSA) between 2023 and 2030.
