The Belgian-born group John Cockerill has absorbed the French SME Agueris, which specialises in simulation and training for Defence and Industry. This merger confirms John Cockerill Defense France’s ambition to be a recognised player serving the French and Belgian Land Forces, notably on the SCORPION-CaMo programme, by strengthening its commitment within the French Defence Industrial and Technological Base.

This decision should allow the Belgian group to strengthen its position in the next-generation simulator programmes needed in particular to train the French armed forces on the new equipment of the SCORPION programme.

John Cockerill also aims to “develop synergies between these two entities of the group, and to further structure this key area of interest by taking into account the complementarity of production activities and weapon system commissioning, and the strategic importance of Agueris training simulators”.

John Cockerill Defense France now brings together the following sites and activities:

• In Distroff and Guénange: design, manufacture and assembly of weapon and simulation systems
• In Commercy: training of our user customers for commissioning, operating and maintaining the equipment
• In Vélizy: design, development, integration and support of Agueris training simulators
