Nexter, a member of the KNDS group, has delivered the first replacement CAESARs to the French Army, in the presence of the Minister of the Armed Forces, S. Lecornu, in Roanne.

During an official visit to the KNDS site in Roanne, the Minister of the Armed Forces, S. Lecornu, witnessed the first replacement CAESARs for the French Army rolling off the line. This delivery follows the transfers made to Ukraine and is the result of an order placed in record time by the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA).

The DGA ordered 18 CAESAR 6x6 MkI in July 2022. The first units rolled off the production line 15 months later, halving the production cycle. Currently, 6 CAESARs are produced each month, and this figure could rise to 8 in 2024 if demand justifies it.

Faced with this industrial challenge, Nexter has adopted a war-economy posture. Exceptional measures have been taken, such as bulk purchases of raw materials, advance procurement and the deployment of new infrastructure and machine tools.
