Naval Group to open a subsidiary in Greece

To strengthen the ramp-up of its operations in Greece, Naval Group will open Naval Group Hellas, its Greek subsidiary, in early 2023.

Naval Group has decided to “strengthen the ramp-up of its operations with its Hellenic partners” by opening a local subsidiary. The strong partnership between Greece and France has a major maritime dimension, requiring a “long-term commitment” from the French manufacturer.

This subsidiary will specialise in “training, technology transfer and knowledge transfer”, the press release states. The company plans successive investments to reach a target of 100 jobs, without specifying a timeframe.

Based in Athens, Naval Group Hellas will coordinate local industrial activities. “More than 50 companies have already joined the supply chain” under the Greek industry participation plan. The Hellenic Navy’s corvette programme includes a “solid cooperation plan aimed at guaranteeing economic benefits in Greece of at least 30% of the programme’s value and creating hundreds of jobs”. Naval Group also says it is committed to fostering “the involvement of Hellenic partners in the group’s international operations”. The 100 employees of Naval Group Hellas should therefore also work on other company programmes.
