VERNEY-CARRON, a subsidiary of the CYBERGUN group and a flagship of the French firearms industry, has just reached a significant milestone. A €36 million framework contract has been signed with Ukrspecexport, a Ukrainian state-owned company, marking a notable step forward in Franco-Ukrainian defence relations.
This partnership provides for the delivery of 10,000 assault rifles, 2,000 precision rifles and 400 grenade launchers, underlining the importance of bilateral cooperation in security and defence. Execution of this contract is conditional on the establishment of joint Ukrainian and French financing, illustrating the solidarity and mutual support between the two nations.
VERNEY-CARRON, whose manufacturing history is part of a centuries-old tradition, is committed to meeting the deadlines agreed for the transaction. A Ukrainian delegation is expected shortly at the production site in Saint-Étienne, a sign of close and concrete collaboration.
The first deliveries are scheduled for early 2024, followed by series deliveries six months after the contract is finalised. This timetable is, however, subject to obtaining the necessary import-export authorisations, a crucial administrative process in the arms sector.
Hugo BRUGIÈRE, CEO of CYBERGUN, expressed his gratitude to the French Ministry of the Armed Forces and various government representatives for their key role in bringing this agreement to fruition. He stressed the commitment of VERNEY-CARRON and CYBERGUN to international security and cooperation between nations, thus reflecting France’s position as a major player on the global defence stage.
This contract represents not only a commercial success for VERNEY-CARRON but also a symbol of French diplomacy and defence strategy, in support of Ukraine in the current geopolitical context.
